New binary uploaded. This is almost ready as a Release Candidate, but it's not feature complete, so I'll call it a BETA version.
No bugs detected, more visual improvements, and small table adjustments. It's really hard to get to Protector level -- without the PLANNING @deadly routine written!

Thanks. This one took some time to get setup right to a point whereas I could feature complete the game. I have always wanted to do a decent space-shooter in assembly -- in my youth, I wrote only in BASIC and the action was severely limited to single enemy ships, single shots, and of course, blink-blink character cell only animation.
Anyways, I uploaded the Release Candidate for final debugging / feedback.
I don't expect too find any problems, but you just never know. I hope to have this finalized by the week's end -- and then I'll post it in the 2009 announcements!
Yes, I am already thinking about another game ...

Ok, after several dozen rounds, I found some sloppiness ... I tightened up all the collision-detection routines to be a bit more accurate, and fixed some bad SED / CLD math that led to funky score displays. Scoring tables have been updated, with a 1000 point bonus per new rank achieved.
The binary has been freshened.

Great game! I haven't been able to play it much yet but I look forward to Sunday when I can hammer it! You should speak to Kenz at Binary Zone about doing a Premium Edition of this little beauty....seriously. I know I'd buy it with nice packaging!

But you may use your Mega-Cart as memory expander to load Omega Fury even from the uIECorion70 wrote:Great work! Very well done, too bad it's not on the MC.
Never forget my slogan below...

As I stated before, Mega-Cart and uIEC make a wonderful pair -- now I want Mega-Cart II to have a tiny slot in its back, opposite the reset button that houses a uIEC. Even if there is an ugly wire going back to the cassette port for the power source, it would be awfully nice if it were integral.
Hey, did anyone see the Easter egg yet?

It's a nice idea even if we need to join to different project but the main problem is the space inside the shells.rhurst wrote:Now I want Mega-Cart II to have a tiny slot in its back, opposite the reset button that houses a uIEC. Brian made a big work to reduce the Mega-Cart PCB inside standard commodore cases so i don't think there is additional space for an uIEC but never say never....
