Re: Lost software releases
+1 to the original post. When I get some spare time I like to go through previous releases. It is a little sad when what looks like a great game can't be downloaded from the link any more. I sometimes have luck googling for it but I am not always successful.

Re: "vi" for the VIC-20!
vi (vim) is my text editor of choice for text file and with 40x22 this could be interesting to look into and try out.

Re: Brand new joysticks from China
I bought a pair of the Atari style joysticks a few months back. They were reasonably responsive and not to bad to use. Unfortunately, after 2-3 days of using one of them, it stopped working so they don't seem to have the best construction or materials when it comes to reliability.

Re: Hack & Slash
Nice. I ran hack and Slash on my BBS years back myself. Good memories. At the online BBS peak, it had a lot of users playing it who got pretty competitive with this and a few of the other BBS 'doors' on the system. I will admit, I ran it via a special wrapper one of the coders in the demo group I wa...

Re: Cartridges Do Not Work
Just acquired a couple Vic-20's(early versions) and got them both to boot up with correct ram showing but that's about it. One of them you can type in commands and they seem to work but the other ones keyboard is locked up with the #8 showing. On both machines however, neither one will run a cartri...

Re: Looking for a game with balloons
Could it be 'The Catch'? Not quite how you draw it but there are a lot of similarities with what you have described.

Best way to reattach labels?
I have a couple of recently bought Psytronik disks where the disk label has lifter off and wanted to check if anyone had advice on the best kind of glue/adhesive to use that will not damage the disk etc. I also have a Vic20 cartridge where the label has come off and have the same question for that.

Re: BBS program for the VIC?
I recently got one of those WiFi modems for the Vic20/C64 and would love to play with something like this in my free time. I used to run a BBS on my Amiga back in the 90's so trying something similar on the Vic20 would be interesting.

Nice. Add a catchy little tune to it and it would be a decent little intro/demo.

Re: Best display for Vic20?
Thanks for the replies. To answer some of the questions and comment on some of the statements made. * It's a ~20" LCD TV (From Dick Smiths before they went bust). * Thanks for the confirmation of the Jaycar CCTV monitor. I looked at that but was not to sure about it so good to get confirmation ...

Best display for Vic20?
My last 1084 died a few months back and I have been using a spare LCD TV which has a composite input and the picture is pretty bad. I have noticed a lot of picture where people have their Vic20 using a LCD monitor(TV?) showing a clear beautiful picture. I was wondering how people are connecting thei...

Re: SD2IEC on the FE3 Cartridge
I have also heard of people not connecting the SD2IEC of the FE3 to the serial port. However you MUST connect it by serial cable to the serial port. It will NOT magically work through the the expansion-port. Yeah, this seems to be the crucial part that I was missing. SD2IEC is now working on the FE...

SD2IEC on the FE3 Cartridge
Hi, I have been lurking for a bit as I reacquainted myself with my Vic20 but during that time, I bought an FE3 and predominately been using it as a RAM expansion. Recently I have tried to use the SD2IEC part of the FE3 but with no luck so I am hoping for some pointers on what to do next to get it to...
