Monophonic… oh my! VIC's got FOUR channels and nothing got that close yet although there's a bag of tricks now to get the frequencies right. :(

Personally I had lots of fun with PWM digi sounds; wasn't sounding too cranky at all times. Here's the classic that blew everybody's mind:

Very cool and crazy how people do playing music through the beeper.
I think special attention should go to the 8 bit zx spectrum too.

Those arpeggios trying to simulate 3 voices and percussion interrupting the bass line always make my toes curl.

True. But the ZX (and CPC with the same sound chip) are dwarfing the VIC technically already.

Wait until you've listened to just one of my favourite free jazz records. You'd then *so* enjoy PC speaker music. Any PC speaker music. ;) I like it if it gets me by the curlies. ;)
