Can anyone provide a translation to English of the list of accessories on page 14 of the VIC-1001 manual? There seems to be some items like VIC-1012 and VIC-1521 that I don't recognize.

OK so using a katakana OCR site we get
VIC-1001 Versonic Computer
VIC-1010 Expansion Module
VIC-1011 RS-232C Adapter Adapter
VIC-1012 Multi-Voice Control Board
VIC-1013 Monitor Cable
VIC-1110 8K RAM Board
VIC-1111 16K RAM Board
VIC-1112 IEEE-488 Interface Board
VIC-1210 3K RAM Back
VIC-1211 Super Expander
VIC-1211M Super Expander (with 3K RAM)
VIC-1213 Programmer's Aid Bapack
VIC-1310 Light Pen
VIC-1311 Joystick
VIC-1312 Paddle
VIC-1510 Color Monitor
VIC-1520 Dot Matrix Impact Printer
VIC-1521 Tractor Unit
VIC-1530 Cassette Drive
VIC-1540 Single Floppy Disk
The 1510 monitor is confirmed on the Canonical List of Commodore Products but I think the VIC-1012 and VIC-1013 are new discoveries.

The Japanese edition of wikipedia has "VIC-1012: Multiple control cartridge" which is no more enlightening.

Isn't it likely to be VicRel ?

Multi Channel (not voice) controller

Edit

Apologies - forgot this was Handic not Commodore

Was there a Commodore made version?

I think HANDIC was just licensed to distribute Commodore products in Sweden, but they still were "official" Commodore products in the sense in that the used the Commodore VIC-15XX numbering system and the packaging (I think) was the extremely similar (the silver box motif). HANDIC did change the plastic case of the cartridges (and label) to their own design.

You're right, though - I've never seen a Commodore branded REL cartridge. But perhaps Commodore contracted HANDIC to make a REL for them, assigned it a "slot" in the VIC-15XX numbering system, and maybe had even intended to release a totally Commodore branded version outside Sweden, but never got around to it due to low demand.

There are other examples of Commodore hiring another company to make its products - nearly all of the VIC's printers were made by Matsushita (the 1525 had nearly identical looking siblings for almost all 8-bit platforms).

That's an interesting suggestion. I've checked the PCB of my VicRel, there's no part numbers and the overall design doesn't "feel" like it originated from Commodore. However they may have had this pencilled in the list and then allowed Handic to produce it later.
