Whoa.. ok, I didn't think this would be of such interest and now I'm pretty nervous about doing anything with it! I don't have facilities or expertise (or even a Vic 20), and far be it for me to want to carelessly obliterate any potentially interesting bit of Vic 20 history.

So can I offer this cartridge as it is to any users here who may be able to handle it with the care required? As it is, and unopened. Contact me here if so.

Mayhem is in the UK and can dump it. I know he'd like to get it from you. He posted in this thread on the last page.

You can trust Mayhem. He is known throughout the commodore community. Send it to him and he will dump it (if he agrees). A dump will not diminish the value of the cartridge, but it will preserve it for the future.

Blimey, didn't realise you were in the UK as well... okay, definitely sending a PM :)

And yes, would definitely try and make it available to the wider community where possible, assuming it works (hey, if I got Type Snyper and Bomber Word working, anything is possible!)

I wonder if there would ever be a case, where if if the software switch wasn't ready for a two-game ROM, the old rom code would still reside in there, beyond the code for the "active" ROM, taking up the extra space of the ROM, but not accessible to the user easily. (i.e. the software switch removed).

I know this was done with an Intellivision game due to legal issues. The older version of the game is still present in the ROM.

Probably wouldn't hurt if you'd get back to the OP.

Dumping the cart is only a matter of a few minutes, if done by a knowledgable person, slotted into the next available weekend.
