I was asking what size in gameplay terms... rooms or length or whatever you feel characterizes it best
Ah, sorry
22 levels
level = 63 x 23 chars (8x16 multicolor char)

What an impressive achievement. I think that there have been really great projects made for the VIC-20 in the past 3 years.

An incredibly exciting addition to the Vic-20 game library
I've never seen multi-directional scrolling like this on the Vic - not anything remotely close. I mean, even 4-way 8-pixel step scrolling is very rare. This is smooth, moves in all directions, has a sophisticated camera and a background layer for parallax. Truly stunning!
And on top of that it has aesthetics unlike any other Vic game. Pentagorat showed us what a top-commercial 1986 Vic game could have looked like after a few years of influence from ZX Spectrum developers. Cheese and Onion shows us what a top-commercial early 90s Vic game could have looked like after many years of influence from C64 and NES developers.
Take that (non-harmony assisted) Atari 2600!

22 levels, 63x23 chars... wow!
Agree with Ola H, this is years ahead of any other VIC platformer.
I keep watching the video and thinking it seems impossible!
Really impressive work!

Thanks,
And remember that the youtube video does not provide smooth frame rate. The real game is smoother.

I would love to see a detailed technical description
A sequel to Blue Star using this engine would probably go down well...

Yeah, I was thinking about pre-ordering and indeed, out of stock
so, does that mean enough stock to go ahead, and more yellow cases?

At least someone got to order it. How can it be out of stock for a pre-order? I think the guy got PO'ed and took it down...It's not even linked from the Vic-20 section of the site anymore.

Misfit, I just wanted to add my voice to the others that have expressed amazement at this game. It looks phenomenal. As soon as it is available for ordering again, I intend to order one.
