This looks to be available in digital download format now along with the other misfit titles.

This is great news. I would love to try the digital version out on my JVic libGDX emulator. I know I haven't released it yet, but I'm always chipping away at it when I'm not distracted by some other retro computing activity (such distractions happen quite a lot actually).

I wonder if I can get a free copy of the digital download given that I own the cartridge (of Cheese and Onion)?

Agreed, that would be excellent. I would like to play Cheese on Onion on emulators as well.

I have bought a digital download of both CaO and Pentagorat (hopefully the easier version, but no clue in the website), but never received any d/load link or feedback whatsoever. Wrote to Tfw8b this morning, still no response :(

Yo.. Just got a message via twitter about your download issue.

You have three ways to download the files from tfw8b.com

Click on the link when you pay for the download, tfw8b.com account page, or via the email the website will have sent you. Check your spam folder

If you are still having issues, use the Contact Form https://www.thefuturewas8bit.com/contacts/ and we'll get you sorted

 It was under "my dowloadable products", on the left in the personal account page.
Sorry I did not notice it before. In the mail from Tim, he didn't specify where exactly the games were to be found ("I don't think you get a download link in your email. It will be under your registered account"). Anyway, done - thanks :)

I hate to necrobump, but has anyone been able to get this (or pentagorat) to work on real hardware by way of FE3 cart or 1541? I purchased the digital files, and I just get a blank "Ready" screen after the "4 of 4 loading" screen for Cheese and Onion, and a black screen after the Pentagorat title.

TFW8B never said anything about special start instructions.

Please do a RAM-check on the FE3 with this program:

http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... 0&start=30

The FE3 is known to have crosstalk-issues especially on NTSC-machines. You did not state where you are located, but it is a good idea to run the RAM-check anyways. Please note this is really thorough RAM-test which can find more issues than other tests, specifically the crosstalk-check is what is of interest here.

If that checks out fine, you can PM me and I can try the files on my machine with my FE3 (I have PAL and NTSC-VICs). No worries, I own the original cart already 8)

This question was asked on Lemon64 as well.

https://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71224

I'll cross-post my response:
SkydivinGirl wrote:Alright everyone, I figured out the problem with running these games. This problem will probably affect every 32K game because of the way the FE3 handles the default memory configurations. Luckily, it's easy to work around.

To play these games, perform the following steps:

1. Press F7 to go to BASIC (Wedge)
2. CD to the D64
3. Load the loader
4. Turn off the wedge by typing OFF then pressing Enter
5. Execute the following command: POKE39938,128
6. Run the program

When you go to any of the 28K RAM modes, including those using F7 or F8 on the main menu, the BLK5 memory ($A000) has the write protect bit set by default. The poke command disables that write protect bit and lets the program run properly. I tried not disabling the wedge but it seems that part of the wedge gets overwritten when loading the last file and crashes.

Please let me know how this works for you.
I also showed in the Lemon64 post how to create a LOADER file for the FE3's Disk Loader to load and run these from the menu. :)
