Denial

Have managed to squeeze 3.5K out of it using various tricks. That's about a 30% saving - not too bad! Nearly 1K of that saving was from no longer linking to printf() incidentally.

Nearly 13K of free heap memory now on startup. Enough that I am thinking to add more functionality.
