Commodore Max
There is a max on ebay now for sale but at 1500 usd I'm not going to bid. Is that a common price for the max? I am hoping for a vic-1001 but they tend to go quite high as well.

Re: Commodore Max
Price of a MAX has gone slowly up over the years (I paid about $400 for my complete one more than a decade ago) but no way $1500 now.
Just for reference, I paid 625 Euros for my complete Vic-1001, also a decade ago.

I think the Max is overpriced. I mean, its as common as a Commodore 116 (about 50000 units made) but fetches much higher prices. Yesterday a Max sold on Japanese ebay for 267 Euro (add 100 Euro service&shipping++) and there is one there without bids that is priced at 408 Euro (+ s&s).Mayhem wrote:Price of a MAX has gone slowly up over the years (I paid about $400 for my complete one more than a decade ago) but no way $1500 now.

In comparison a Commodore 116 went on German ebay for 179 Euro (+22 Euro shipping) today. It even had a box.
I understand the high price for the Vic-1001 though. Its less common (about 8000 units) and you can actually do something with it.

That MAX isn't boxed though, that sold in Japan. "Loose" MAX computers are fairly common, some of the value is in a good condition box and all the manuals for it.
