Europeans have no issues with making our own 9v PSU for a NTSC machine as the 8-euro plug simply fits into a NTSC machine. However USA owners with a PAL machine have issues, the connector is none-standard and can't be obtained so easily. I was thinking about alternatives:

o Desolder PAL 9v connector & add one from an NTSC board
o Solder a 'barrel connector' to the board and have it dangling out of the cartridge port at the back
o use test probes to connect a barrel connector to the back of the PAL 9v power connector

As this oge_user is offering ??v DC PSUs now, it made me think can we even just skip the 9v AC->5v DC connection and:

o use test probes to connect a barrel connector to the 5v DC line and ground (before the fuse)

anyone have any comments or suggestions on these ideas?

The purpose is to keep the VIC untouched, so desoldering the original connector will *modify* the machine :)

Boray had a suggestion, take molex connector for your PC and strip two of them, needs to be widened a little before they fit:

I wonder if some silicon could be used to make a complete connector.

@e5frog
I suppose covering these with a bit of heat shrink tubing could prevent short circuits.
