Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
OK, I am happy to report success!! I tracked down the last bug (jumper settings marked different on the PCB than we intended) and it is now fully working!!

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
Only 12 days to go, not sure if there will be any available after the kickstarter, I have a few other projects I am working on (yes and another Vic project)

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
5 days to go and 24 backers! Vic users rock. Lets see if we can get a few more!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
If anyone else in Europe has ordered a bare card and wants to pool together to purchase MC3446N transceivers let me know. You can get 10 off for 10 euros on AliExpress, that would be sufficient for three of us.

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
May I recommend:
http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/West ... be%2fco%3d
They work just as well as original MOS 6522 VIAs but they consume less than 1mA.

Be normal.
Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
I have a pair of UMC 6522s I was planning to use. I'm wary of non-MOS VIAs, some of them don't work with shared IRQ lines.
Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
The prototypes have been tested with the WDC chips, it works perfect. Unfortunately cost is keeping me from including them on finished boards. however, anyone who wants to upgrade to WDC 65c22 and machine sockets can do so for $15.
I also have cable options available that we will announce when we send the survey at the end of the Kickstarter.
Thanks for your support!

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
AFAIK, that is precisely the main difference between the w65C22S and the W65C22N.srowe wrote:I have a pair of UMC 6522s I was planning to use. I'm wary of non-MOS VIAs, some of them don't work with shared IRQ lines.
From WDC
W65C22S/W65C22N Differences
•The W65C22S is lower power, faster and direct drive outputs with no current limiting resistors on outputs ports.
•The W65C22N is plug replacement of NMOS 6522 devices with current limiting resistors on output ports.
• The W65C22N does not have bus holding devices on the input, IO pins.
•The W65C22N IRQB is an open drain output that CAN be Wire-ORd, unlike the totem-pole output of the W65C22S (some customers have had to use a diode in series with the IRQB output when using the W65C22S in their systems that had Wire-ORd interrupts).
Be normal.

Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
Any news on when these will ship?
Re: VIC 1112 IEEE Interface
New PCB has been tested and design finalized, wrapping up the changes to the .brd files and then sending them out for production. All parts except eproms and PCBs are in hand. Watch the kickstarter page for more updates this week!
Thanks!
Thanks!
