The free version of Pulse cannot be POKEd to slow down. Can give you a version you can POKE to your preference. But I have to run somewhere in a minute and will try to squeeze that in later.

Yes, this would be great. Like I said, for an 11 year old kid (and his 45 year old dad) the gameplay is simply too fast. I think we managed to get about "10cm" into the landscape before dying on the best of our efforts. We had to go back to something abit more tame.

Very quick hack, due to flash of insight: http://hugbox.org/pixel/external/denial/pulse-slow.prg

It's default is POKE6862,5 – higher values will slow it down even more. 1 is the the fastest, 0 is the slowest.

Untested… *heading out*

You're welcome.

Don't get me wrong but now I'm certainly curious as I'm 41yo myself and when I start the unexpanded version the game easily scrolls into the landscape without even a joystick connected. Perhaps the waves are fooling you and you need to pull back to the left more often?

Just want to give a big shout out to pixel for incredible customer service.

Ordered PULSE for a friend Wednesday afternoon.
It arrived this morning.

Dude! That's awesome!

I reckon that impresses everyone, including myself, after an unfathomably long delay until the release came true. ;) Thanks!

And here's a small gallery with Pulse working in a brand *old* setup, including some expansion many of you will probably recognize :D.

It's a lucky find: some time after lurking threads about this here in Denial, I found one on sale in a classified of a local journal. I didn't even know if the unit was working, and it was dirty as hell, but after a test and a good cleanup in my lab, I have it sitting on my desk at home. I decided not to put the monitor on it, because doing so I am free to use either the Final Expansion or the Megacart. Unfortunately, both don't like the lid (hit by protruding cable and reset button, respectively). Current configuration is with Manosoft Princess and an old but still great RAM expansion from Eslapion.

I don't know either cart, but the reset button can be relocated?

I don't know. Never opened it. Maybe someone from the original team of developers can help? Sorry for the OT.

Like the "micro" expansion - taking up a 1/2 m2 of space - would love to see the "not micro" version
