I need to adjust this VIC's video signal, but the new RCA monitor cable from ebay is certainly nice to have:

I can't wait to fire up Mega-Cart on this 52" screen! :D

And how. Yikes.

You really should do the S-video mod. I think you'd be flabbergasted by how good it looks. It's almost unbelievable.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

 Yeah, I don't know why I was expecting it to render better in 1080p -- if you stand close enough, you can see vertical scan lines really defining each pixel. It's crazy good!

I have an S-video cable out for the C64, and yes, it's amazing on a regular television set. Not certain it can get any better on a more premium screen though -- it is what it is.

Here's a picture (without flash), vivid, wide zoom, after the adjustment:

With Wide Zoom on, the pixels really retain their chunky appearance, but it looks smart sitting on the couch 10' to 12' away ... 8)

This ends up looking like an big ol' Lite Brite display when you POKE 36879,8

Trust me, the S-video mod will make a difference. It doesn't take very long to do and the parts cost pennies. It's a no-brainer.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Oh, I am certain of that! This pictured Sony doesn't have an S-video input (only 3 HDMI, VGA, RCA, and antennae), so I couldn't leverage the signal splitting it gives without combining it back with an RCA adapter. :P

Besides, I just played Quikman and Omega Fury on it -- crikey, those sprites are large!
