For Assteroyd Dodger, you need to press 1 to load the original, and 2 to load the updated version. Is that not working for you?
No, the next step.
I'm on the startcreen of the updatetd version, and can't run the game.
To start the first version you need to push the fire firebutton, but for game 2 ?
Maybe it only works on a real vic ?

Okay, I'll check that when I get home. It should be the same as I believe the only difference is the graphics files loaded in.

The version in GB20 is the updated release from 2010.

I rechecked here for the original topic: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bul ... php?t=4861

I couldn't get the updated version to work with a normal stick, I think it's only meant to work with the Protovision adapter. You'll have to ask Rick if that's the case, or bump that thread ;)

I had to uninstall Game Base, VICE emulators, VICE settings, scrub the system of anything Game Base and VICE related, followed by a clean install of only the files provided. No clue as to why it took over a dozen installation attempts to get it running, all following the directions.

But at least it's running now :D

@Akator, that sounded viral! :?
Glad to hear it's up after that gauntlet run. :)

Yeah, GameBase is needlessly finnicky.
I don't understand why you can't just point it to an xvic executable and the game database. I don't want it to checksum anything.

But enough about that! Hooray Mayhem on the release of GameBase20 v3!

I guess it's just to make life easier for people, you just point the wizard at a directory and it figures out which versions of the emulator you have (if the database creator, ie. me) sets it up that way.

In my case, I deliberately left v2.2 out of the equation.

But there's nothing stopping you from adding your own emulator setup inside Gamebase for a particular database, you just have to fill in a few defaults (like the boot script) and away you go.

I've made a few changes that were reported, and I've added a few games since I made the previous package, so an updated version will have a few extras when I upload it again ;)

I can't remember if that's one of the files that Scott Elder sent me. I'll check and replace if need be tonight.

Game : Gallows (1981)(Nufekop)
wrong : PAL/NTSC
right : NTSC

reason : when playing on PAL, the screen "jumps" to the left when loosing a game/guess.

Goldrush (1982)(Compute!) -> wrong screenshot.

There are 2 versions of Goldrush (Compute!).
In GB_v0.2 you use the "improved color" - version. [CRC32 -> 30b1429f]
In GB_v0.3 you have added the "original blue-white" version. [CRC32 -> e50486b5]

Screenshot in GB_v0.3 is from the gameversion GB_v0.2

EDIT :
also : Haunted House by Unknown [8k expansion] :
correct screenshot is missing in GB-screenshot-folder -> Haunted House S4.png & Haunted House.png is the same picture.

....and one question to the game "Jorney (1982)(Nufekop)"
PAL/NTSC is pointed to NTSC in GB-Config.
but it also works ok in PAL [WinVICE]
So, why NTSC and not PAL/NTSC ?.......maybe because of gameplay ?

Cheers on the screenshots, there was a SNAFU by Windows 7 at some point that merged two updated versions of the project together (the one I was working on, and one being stored, hidden, somewhere else by the OS), and resulted in a bunch of "merged" screenshots. I had been correcting them where I saw them. I will probably scrap the entire directory and redo ALL screenshots for v0.4!

As for Journey, I will have made it NTSC only for the same reason you reported Gallows; at some point I must have found something that goes wrong on PAL Vice. That's not to say Vice 2.4 could have "corrected" the issue in question.
