Sounds like someone just volunteered for a new project.

What about

Wizard of Wor

It is available on the Commodore Max Machine but not the Vic-20

I think it was announced but never made it.

We've been begging for someone to take on Wizard or Wor for years. More so after Berzerk was released. There's even a gap in the Commodore serial numbers indicating a prototype may even exist.

Wizard of Wor proto?

Certainly a long-shot, but maybe?...

So tempting.

I almost bid but those labels look so much like a modern Brother label maker printer output apart from wavy edges which means it is probably a paper strip.

It is almost too much of a Vic20 grail that someone would try this as a fake.

It did come out on Max Machine and looked like the C64 version.

However, that said I did once acquire a prototype Mario Bros. for Atari 2600 at a car boot sale. So these things do pop up.

Someone just bid.....Mayhem, Bo, do you think it is worth group gamble / share the risk?

Max machine version would have pretty much been the c-64 version.

Back in the day, stupid people would have said that it was beyond the VIC's capabilities. It isn't. In fact, i don't think that it would be all that difficult to achieve.

I think I played it on an emulator once. It is absolutely NOT the same as the Commodore 64 version; aside from the sharp resolution I suspect a VIC-20 version could have been better.

Oh, there we go! Found an image. It plays as "good" as it looks.

Maybe someone could make a Q-Bert game that doesn't look like crap.

Or Mappy; one of my all time favorites.

Or an all-text downhill skiing game in BASIC. Yeah, someone should do that.

I'm glad you volunteer to spend some of your precious spare time to make all these games happen. :P

I will go right to work on the all-text downhill skiing game in basic.
