Getting more members
To make this a better forum, I hope to have more members. Please help by emailing any sites related to the vic or contacting ebayers who are buying vic 20s.
More people means more resources. You'll probably be able to get the hardware, software or information you need from one of them.

Unfortunately, 400 of the 500 have posted less than 7 times hereJeff-20 wrote:Update to a very old post... We reached 500 members today.
Is there anyway to track how many times these 400 visit to see if at least they're reading the threads on a more regular basis or if they're one time visitors and poof gone?

The 500th user right at the end of the year. I love the symmetry of it all.
As for the number of users that are actually participating, I suspect a lot of those users join when they're having a bout of nostalgia and then move on when interest wanes or join to ask a question and when their problem is solved, they never return.

In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

No to be negative or anything here, just the stats of the 400 broken down (as I feel that I try to promote and encourage people to participate here)....Centallica wrote:Unfortunately, 400 of the 500 have posted less than 7 times hereJeff-20 wrote:Update to a very old post... 281 have never posted of the 400
44 of the 400 posted once
23 of the 400 posted twice
20 of the 400 posted 3 times
16 of the 400 posted 4 times
7 of the 400 posted 5 times
3 of the 400 posted 6 times
5 of the 400 posted 5 times
Maybe a 10 post min. to become a official member
All here is for fun and these stats mean squat if we're promoting the Vic-20 and having fun in the progress

I once deleted an inactive user (after 6 months of inactivity)... I got an email the very next day complaining. He couldn't understand what the problem was with lurking...
I should start a new thread just for this... "Lurkers!"

I too, read the forums regularly, but haven't posted much...

Good discussion here on Atari and Amigas that you might have knowledge to contribute (see your signature lists these as interests):Zeela wrote:I too, read the forums regularly, but haven't posted much...

Isn't there already a rather simple solution to managing inactive accounts? Just have the system delete any accounts that haven't been logged into for an extended period (i.e. 6 months or a year).
Even lurkers need to log in to read any of the forums beyond the "general discussion" one. So this system should be able to clean up all unused accounts.
