New Release: Pillow Fight

Post by Jeff-20 »

PILLOW FIGHT

A game for the Unexpanded Vic 20, Joystick required. All BASIC.

Image

I don't know why I didn't post this earlier; I made it last year. It was an experiment in multi-channel music (difficult on unexpanded vic). Can you name all of the tunes in this game? If you can, you win.

Instructions:
Remember Pro Wrestling? Maneuver the protagonist by "bouncing off the ropes" and changing directions during travel to collect all the round objects. The trick is you can only collect them when the color is right.

Avoid the sharp objects. There are 12 levels, each with a time limit to complete. Bonus objects will send you to bonus levels or allow you to skip levels.

WOW Jeff! Another great BASIC game for the unexpanded VIC.. I guess that if your games were published as a magazine type-in in the 80s, the VIC would have faded away years later!
Thanks for it. :D

Another great game Jeff - it's got that "I know I can do better when I die, so i'll just have one more game!!" feeling :D Is the closing theme "London Bridge is falling down"?

Best score so far:- 170 - level 8

Nice one. :) I do believe I played this at ECCC last year! But this version seems more refined?

Yeah, this is an old one from last year. It's not very fun if you wrestle with the joystick; you have to "rebound" from the edges of the playfield.

It was mostly an experiment in music. There are over 12 songs. And you're right London Bridge is one of them. All simple children songs. I wanted to see what I could squeeze into memory.

Jeff's games always continue to amaze. He works within the limitations of BASIC on an unexpanded VIC-20 and makes great games in spite of these. It's beautiful art created through adversity. If I could, I would confer the title of "Greatest BASIC games programmer of all time" to Jeff.

I only was able to recently play this because I just got a Datassette a few weeks ago and I loaded it from the Denial Collection 3.

It also reminds me of Solar Fox.
