Colecovision demo cart - Waterline

Post by RobertBe »

At last Saturday's Blockparty 2010, Krue entered two items into the competition - Detroit Countryside into the Oldschool Music compo and Waterline into the Oldschool demo compo -- both running on the Colecovision (hey, no emulator there). Waterline won first place in the Oldschool demo compo! It was a tremendous effort. As its title bears out, Waterline was a compo about water, dripping, splashing in waves, etc., and strange little creatures inhabiting those waters. Great graphics, great music. "Colecovision!" the Blockparty audience screamed as I did, too.

At the end of the competition, Krue was kind enough to give me and others an embroidered patch of the symbol of his demo, and he was generous enough to give me his only other Waterline cart! Not the one with the handwritten label taped to the cart but the excellent one with professional-looking label affixed to the cart! I asked him whether he was sure he wanted to give it away. He wouldn't take no for an answer because of the support I had given him.

Most grateful, I told him that I would show off his demo next Saturday at the SC3 Arcade Party.

Wow, my first Colecovision demo in a cart,
Robert Bernardo
