Ghost Town anyone?

Post by orion70 »

See what I found in a big C=Plus4 repository:

As you can see, instructions, maps, and a complete solution are available for what seems to be a good game. Anyone knows where to find the VIC version, or owns the actual tape? :?:

It seems to be a very good game but I cannot find it in my memories! I think I've never played it, but I'd like to!! P.S.: Kingsoft made a good use of BIG software sprites (I remember Bongo), maybe this game could be a one of the best of the last period!!!

looks like a quick conversion of the Vic tape artwork and they left on the VC20+16k by mistake.

Front cover is clearly for C16 & Plus/4

I could be wrong, maybe this did get a Vic release in Germany but I have never heard of it on the Vic.

They have pictures of the tape and it actually seems to have the VIC 20 version on one side and the C16 version on the other.

I don't have it, so it's one to add when found.

This was one of my personal favorites in the classic 12. Let me know what you think after you play it!

Thanks cmb-warrior!

So it is a arcade adventure similar to Zok's Kingdom. I am totally stuck though as I can't seem to pick up items.

I checked a video of the C16 version and as usual I think Udo's limited graphical skills were a better fit for Vic than C16 & C64.

Aha, there is a Scott Adam's adventure named Ghost Town (never released on Vic). However this is a completely unrelated aracade adventure by Udo Gertz.

I've been amusing myself with translating the VIC 20 16k version of Ghost Town posted in this thread from German into English. And I now think that I've got something worth sharing.

I've played it through using the solution from the link in the first post so it "should work".

I find the game to be totally unfair but at the same time very addictive. However, once you have solved it the replayability is not
that great since there's no random element to it.

Anyhow, here you go:
