How to use "D64 Reader" for MMC64

Hi all. I have an MMC64 with "D64 Reader V6.0".
I want to use it to back up my C64 & VIC floppys as disk images, but
so far it won't work. I understand it uses Dreamload. Does that mean
any disks to be used with it must be specially prepared? Anything else I should know about it?

Since you want to backup your floppies, you need a d64 writer plugin that read from the real 1541 disk and writes to the MMC/SD card of your MMC64 not a d64 reader.
Mega-Cart: the cartridge you plug in once and for all.
