With a name like Ramok I'd guess Star Trek. It jsut seems like a trekkie name... :)

Or old school Dr Who but I'm a huge fan an I don't recognise it.

Last hint: it's a play on the word. And it's not the result of a memory test, "RAM OK", either. :P

In the year 2003, the Omega System developed a method of training its warriors to protect their star colonies against Android forces over the city of Komar. Omega fighters raced to engage and destroy these aliens and the mines they planted. The Omega method is so successful, it commands fear and respect from all throughout the galaxies. This method is code named OMEGA RACE.
Komar spelled backwards is Ramok.

 Mishandling of an internal sprite register caused two minor glitches to occur with the carrier rendering on the opening screen (upon first appearing it was in multicolor mode and there was a bad flicker when dropping a heart-stopper). I guess I should be glad it was only that and not some obscure bug in the core sprite routine.

I changed the hull tactical display to read: [OK] [DAMAGE] [CRITICAL] [EJECT!]

The victory tune upon a new rank plays slightly faster.

The usual file links have been updated.

Thanks. And this transmission just came in: an artist's drawing from a surviving eye witness of the only Thargoid destroyer sighting.

Tweaks, tweaks, tweaks. Changed scoring system and end of game sequence. Fixed bug when colliding with a ship that could produce an HP wraparound (1 -> 255). Now resets your score if you press F1 during a play level or after dying to continue play -- no fair to have points/bonus continuation with extra lives. :P

Get it here.

Do you ever stop!? I have the feeling that one day there'll be a post with a tweaked version featuring a fully 3d, bump-mapped textured MMO version with CD quality Dolby 5.1 sound for the unexpanded Vic! :P

Well done as always. :)

For your downloading and playing pleasure, Omega Fury has been updated with the VIC-SSS4 optimizations, making it noticeably faster (I should add more enemy ships and levels, heh).

The prg file doesn't work with Vice 1.22 (PAL Emulation) but works with latest beta, maybe it has the same Mike fixed problem of Quikman ?

Works perfectly in VICE 2.1.16 (the "unstable" version with resizeable window). RAM issue maybe? It's a 16K+ game.

Using JarVIC, looks like you can play Omega Fury online -- tested using Firefox 3.5.3 on Vista64.
