I've just updated the very LAST version of the Mega-Cart firmware.

I've substituted Game Theory 2 with Ten Ten by using the latest version and updated Tetris+ with my latest fixed version.

Now we are testing everything again for the last time on PAL and NTSC machine though i do not expect any issue since changes are really minimal.

After this last tests Brian will burn eproms to assemble them on PCB and Mega-Carts are ready for shipping :D

I can also confirm that the outer package artwork has gone to the printers and has been duplicated (sorry Brian if I gave this away).

So things are getting tangible, folks.

Tests were completed successfully this past weekend on final bin images for PAL and NTSC machines.

I completed development and testing of one last easter egg.

I also burned some eproms and started soldering to PCBs.

I had one set back this week.

When I went to pick them up today, I found that the print shop which was doing cart labels cropped them square
So they do not fit correctly on cart!

It will be another week to have these done again. :(

Why did they presume them to be square? Didn't they have a template? Just wondering. :)

I brought Vic-20 cart to print shop and discussed requirements with the guy there. Also I noted the crop marks that ral-clan had included in graphic.

They were supposed to leave labels uncropped as I planned to do this on cutter at work.

Unfortunately, the guy who worked this job was not same guy as I spoke with and he took the initiative to crop the labels square.

Needless to say, I was not pleased at this setback.

I'm a bit confused, is the cart shipping yet?

Yes, it is shipping - although each cartridge is being assembled by hand. So, although the first cartridges have been shipped, it might be quite a while until the people at the bottom of the list receive theirs.

Thanks very much guys!.... I got my MegaCart yesterday, and I really love it!

I still need to get some time to really sit down and enjoy fully, but i've had a quick play last night and i'm very impressed.

So much so that i've done a quick blog post ... http://fgasking.wordpress.com/2009/05/1 ... -megacart/

This was well worth the purchase and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved. This is the first brand new cartridge i've ever bought for the Vic 20 as I was a late starter in 1989 when the machine was well and truely obsolete commercially and all my games were second hand as a result.
