So, is there someone willing to recover a program from tape? I'd of course pay some for the work. It's a ML program, Whirlwind Rescue and pretty close to being my favourite VIC game

I don't have that in GB20 (but it's listed as an entry) so I'd be interested in getting a working PRG/TAP from it too :)

There is an inlay on Arma's tribute site, but no TAP

Is the tape still in decent condition and you think it would still load okay Iltanen? I have the facilities to transfer tapes, disks and cartridges to emulator format so I could have a shot if need be.

The program won't load okay, I get "WHIRLWIND RESCUAA" load error. I send it anyway, maybe you can "get it out"?

Maybe is an head alignment problem, does exist a graphical alignment program for the Vic like one that i've for the C64 ?

No, I don't think I can load it.. I've been able to load it but it suddenly stopped about a year ago. I've tried it with many cassette decks and adjusted one of them without a result

So, it probably requires a little more than just loading it. Do I send it to you anyway?

He's got my address so I'll receive it and attempt the transfer. My 1530 is aligned via the C64 so I know that's perfect (I use it also for the Vic20). The transfer is done via 1531 however but I have a 99% success rate there too; I've been able to align that deck pretty much too, but some tapes do fluctuate. I have spent two hours or more on a tape in the past just trying to get it out in working state heh.

I am trying to get that game, too.

any news on that?

I did some reworks on Atari800... but never found the original game I had back in those glory days:

http://atari.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=5300

so it is still an open issue in my life ;)

Now I have my Vic20 and kit at my flat, I need to go back and try another load. I wasn't able to get it to transfer on my PC at the time. Just have to remember where I put the tape...

I ran through both sides of the tape and didn't immediately locate where Whirlwind Rescue was, but I'll give it another try in the future.
