My 'VIC-20C' setup
I put up some pics of (what I have dubbed) VIC-20C setup in my workshop.
The kernal ROM has been replaced by 27C128 for switching between a modified PAL JiffyDOS and stock kernal via a switch. I burnt a new BASIC ROM on a 2764 and adapted it to fit the 2364 socket because the original ROM chip was getting very hot.
Sorry for the image size, I didn't reduce them I might do that later. Have a look around in the other directories, you may find something of interest.

Edited.
Maybe I was wishing that CBM survived ten years more... Freud, where are you?
It's the cover of the 1994 auction for the Valley Forge factory (Commodore Semiconductor Group, I guess the former MOS technology).
I found the complete document in Clockmeister's directory (thanks for that, where did you find it?):

This is a very impressive set up with all the mods you have done!Clockmeister wrote:I put up some pics of (what I have dubbed) VIC-20C setup in my workshop.

I went online in 1997 and the images are on one of my earliest backup disks and if I remember correctly I just stumbled upon them. I had enough sense to save themorion70 wrote:Edited.

This is the best I could do, since I don't have an original PET style keyboard... (donations acceptedJeff-20 wrote:I would like to see it with the original black keyboard.

and the now somewhat anaemic looking VIC-20

Which do you prefer?
Black keys look MUCH better! It makes it more obviously a VIC! Can I add this image to our front page?Clockmeister wrote: http://tinyurl.com/5hadqc
I think the c16 keys look better if you go with white keys....

Very nice!
The internal picture shows the metal plate around the switch and
joystick removed. Did you replace it later? That area is kind of
tight, and I had some trouble getting it to fit in mine:

I had to use the dremel quite a bit, and accidentally made a
pinhole below and to the left of the joystick port.
I have a Suncom Slik-stick(is that right?) joystick that was made to
go with the flat 128/64c case. It sticks on with velcro, and
has short cord that just reaches the port. It was made as
a mouse substitute, and would be quite useless for games.
But would look very cool with the vic-20c. I need to post some
updated photos....

If you document it, its not a bug, its a feature.

I don't have a spare plate, I'm hoping to modify and fit one when I do though. Yours looks good.

I bet thats right. The one I have is loose, so I don't know whatcarlsson wrote: I think you mean Suncom IconTroller. There were a few different models though, of which one fits your description.
suncom named it.
I'll get a picture tonight if I have time.
