Jim, what would the price difference be on the final cart if you were to use black/beige/white/clear etc.?

Just kidding, by the way.

I have no idea at this point. First step is a 3-D model, then a tooling quote, then a material quote.

Stick with the Commodore convention

White/beige = recreational software
Brown = programming/hardware expansion

Now Jim, what does the software going in the carts do? ;)

I've been thinking, as I want to make some carts too, that it may be cheaper if you make a design that has two halves that are exactly the same, thus requiring only one mold.

i.e. on the left side you have a clip and on the right a socket, such that if you flip it over the clip and socket line up on either side.
Any special differences between the sides could be implemented with break off bits.

As a quick update, a forum member here has been helping me by creating a 3-D CAD model of a case. His first attempt would not export in the right format for the molding company, but a second try appears to be coming along better.

It's still a long ways off, as the 3D model is needed to get a quote, and then one has to decide how to finance this.
