1Chip Vic20 or maybe 1Chip C64

I really could use a slot so MegaCart could be plugged in.
After all, what is a Vic-20 without a MegaCart?

The Megacart would be quite small in VHDL... most FPGA development boards carry a lot more memory than there is on the Megacart (or Behr Bonz...)6502dude wrote:I really could use a slot so MegaCart could be plugged in.

Adding a few lines to reproduce the behavior of the logic chips and copy the data from the two 8Mbit chips into flash memory and there you have it... VIC-20 and Megacart (or any cart) on a chip...
Anyways, the Spartan 3e has at least 144 pins. Adding a cart port on it would probably be very simple.
Be normal.
To what extent is the C64DTV a one-chip computer? At least it doesn't include any discrete 6510, VIC-II, SID, CIA, PLA as far as I know.
The C-1, which conceptually is the C64DTV's big brother, may also qualify as such even though it has a rather large motherboard, separate memory slots etc. The VIC-20 FPGA has been ported to run on the C-1 but I don't know how compatible the core is compared to e.g. top of the line software emulation. I'd be very surprised if the core outperforms emulators.

It's not that bad. You can get new ones here (you may need someone who reads Japanese to help you) for ¥15,590 (about €93) plus shipping.carlsson wrote:The 1ChipMSX is also bloody expensive, probably due to so few units have been produced. Expect to pay a few hundred Euros for a second hand one on eBay!
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.
