Color of cartridges

Post by Iltanen »

Do the colors on the label tell anything of the game or are they just random? I have 2 Omega Race cartridges; one has brown on the label and the other has a greenish-color (you know them).

I'm pretty sure it's just an inconsistency in the printing process that lead to colour variations. Also, in some cases, there has been UV related fading of the ink since the cartridge's manufacture 25 years ago.

No fading in these. All the cartridges that I have with printed labels are either brown or that greenish color

As far as I know, these are the series:

Silver, metal label with black text: Original C= release
White, paper label with brown text: Later C= release
Silver, paper label with red text: Handic release

Perhaps there are more series or more detailed variation within a series?

I also have an Alien cartridge with metal label and light brown letters.
