But you guys are right that there are some men out there that have the charm (schmarm?) to convince women to do things very easily.

I had a female friend who I found out posed nude for an "artist photographer" fellow she knew. She said she felt flattered that he asked, I guess she liked to be considered beautiful enough to want to be photographed. She had to think about it, and did it. The fact that he had a "portfolio" of dozens of other women he had photographed like this, I guess, helped her feel that it wasn't just her doing it - i.e. if all these women could do it, she could too.

I'm just thinking - wow! I'm not even sure how serious of an "artist photographer" this guy really was - he had a modicum of talent evidently. Obviously he was onto something he realised was a good thing and continued with it - whatever his motives  . This guy just plain ASKS dozens of women to post nude and a great proportion do it. Holy crap, sometimes all it takes is the audacity to do something (heheheh) other people would consider outrageous!

I think there was some wine at the photo shoot and things went a little further (willingly) afterward, according to her description. I highly suspect that sequence of events wasn't entirely unplanned on the photographer's part, and that bottles of wine are a 'regular' feature at these shoots (or should I say pre-meditated seductions).
It's all a "numbers game" as it is with anything you want to get ie sales for example...call 10 people and you'll get 3 who buy...ask 10 women to pose nude 2 will say yes...out of the 2 1 will sleep with you afterwards from being so turned on...sounds like a fun hobby to take up

Except I have no room to set up a photography studio in my retro basement and I doubt my wife would give up her scrap-booking corner for it either

Centallica: I can't take credits for have found such images, I just happened to see them posted on another forum. Frankly, neither of the women got me even remotely excited, despite their nakedness and showing most or all of their bodies. To be sexy is about more than having a nice body but nothing to cover it with. In particular nudity in an unexpected situation rarely does anything to me. I mean, a naked female plumber who leans over to fix a broken water pipe would mostly look odd, no matter how well proportioned she is from behind.

Hm, this thread has come way from the original topic about selling a PET. Maybe I should mention one of those "girl demos" on the PET, later ported to the C64 to get on topic. You know, the strip show where an ASCII girl with impossibly large breasts takes of her clothes, does unspeakable things with herself, winks and redresses.

Yeah, sorry to have diverged from the original intention of the thread...and now, back to the topic....

Well, here's the latest:
Q: Oh my God! About 15 years ago I stuck 10 PETS (3 4032's) and 4 (8032's) and 1 (8016), 3 printers and 3 Dual disk drives in a skip! One of the 8032's had a toggle switch to change between 40 & 80 cols. Never knew they'd be worth anything... Gutted! Cheers, Franc

A: It's precisely because of what you were doing THAT THESE ARE WORTH $ TODAY !!! Supply and Demand !! If everyone is DECREASING supply by getting rid of things, when someone DEMANDS / r WANTS one , they're hard to find and the price goes up !! Happy Holidays !
By his logic, one of these ought to be worth quite a bit these days:

Based on the fact that the lastest question poster used the terms "skip" for garbage bin, I'm assuming he/she is from England....so at least that means that the question posters aren't all the seller's friends (some mentioned being from Ontario).

But the seller is correct. The PET/CBMs sold in quite decent numbers for its time, weighs an awful lot to ship but in some places still are considered highly valuable. I don't know how many percent still remain in working condition, but if all units had been rescued from each company in time, I don't think they would fetch half as much as they typically do.

Personally I had never seen a PET until about two years ago. Now I have seen so many in one place that I get mental back ache just thinking about one.

I can't believe I turned down several complete PETs in the 90s. I didn't have space for them, and I had already hoarded too much from the thrift stores. I even saw the disk drives all the time! I just didn't want another hobby. I was also poor and collecting Atari junk.

Also, I am with Anders. Those aforementioned girls did nothing for me. Just not my type. I prefer a different body type. A full sturdy shape and feminine curves. Those girls look vaguely like little boys to me. All narrow and fragile. I'd be afraid of hurting them.

Or maybe you'd be afraid they would damage your vintage gaming gear? I mean, what if the girl in high heels hovering over a CoCo lost her balance and fell bum first on top of it and cracked the case? Not so sexy anymore!

That guy was laying it on a bit thick. I'm glad it got pulled. My only complaint is that we'll never know exactly what happened. It's like missing the end of the movie. :(
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

Well, considering the car show in the photo, altough it is true that supply has decreased considerably, demand is highly unlikely to go up anytime soon so... his logic still applies. Or so it would seem...

In the context of his answer, his logic assumes that the supply of PETs at this point in time have already outstripped demand. The interest in PETs still rests with a very limited group of people; namely, hardcore Commodore collectors and those who run computer museums. Most people see them as they would see an '82 Cavalier, in that people had/used one at one time, but now it's just outdated and takes up a lot of space.
