Apologies if this has been asked ( about 7132 ) times before....
but what are the rarest carts...I suppose some might be rarer in some parts of the world than others !
What about boxed carts ? Hard to find, or common as house bricks ?!
and heres a pic to keep us all interested...
Rarest carts !?

It seems more common ('round these parts) to find boxed VIC carts than for most systems I collect for, as compared with finding loose carts for the same system.
Boxed Sega Genesis (Megadrive) are the most common, and then I'd put VIC-20 carts in for a tie with Intellivison or so as the next most common. Certainly more common than finding boxed C-64, NES, or 2600 carts when compared to finding them loose.

Ward's list is now horribly out of date imo... why I've been running the banner to continue his fine work. Many games were over-rarified by him imo, and in many cases, over-priced. Best place now to get an updated list in the online guide at Digital Press...

And Norway is number 1 on the Human Development Index! With the scarcity of VIC, I think its quality of life rating should be lowered.d0c wrote:everything vic20 is very rare in norway....
Australia is number 3, Sweden is 5, Canada is 6, USA is 7. All of these nations are rich in VIC 20 resources. However, the UK and Germany rank lower despite being far more endowed in VIC 20 goodness. We need to develop a VIC 20 Index ranking the availability of VICs in their respective nations.
The only problem I have with that Digital Press scarcity guide is there is no legend to tell you if the scale (1 to 10) is ascending or descending. i.e. if 1 is the scarcest or 10 is the scarcest on the scale. It's obvious to me that it's an ascending scale, because I already know carts like Omega Race are common, but to someone who knows nothing about the VIC at all, you might get the impression that Omega Race is ultra rare and Frog Man is extremely common if you are reading the scale the wrong way.Mayhem wrote:Ward's list is now horribly out of date imo... why I've been running the banner to continue his fine work.
