Another utility:

http://home.worldonline.se/boray/datorm ... rtmenu.zip

Sorts the saved "MENUDATA" list file. You can also choose to remove the names MENU, MENUDATA and QMENU from the list.

Another update (V6):

http://home.worldonline.se/boray/datormuseum/menu6.zip

Includes:

* MENU

-bugfix: Every 21th file wasn't displayed.

* QMENU

-same thing.

* SORTMENU

-You will now get a question about a block size. You will then get a question on all files below this block size if you want to keep it or not. Useful if you want to remove small unimportant files or "bars" etc from the list before sorting it...

Sorry Chris ;) I think it's pretty easy from basic:

open15,8,15,"s0:file":close15

Once you have learned that, it's just as easy as typing "DELETE". ;) I am more thinking of this program as a nice and quick starter for game disks...

But maybe I will include it... just for you ;) But that will make the program a bit bigger...

just as easy as typing in delete, who are you trying to kid... well me i guess :)

if you did pop that in, i would be extremely grateful, but no worries at all if you do not. i just think it would be a nice option to have.

if you are worried about the size, you can alsways send me a custom version,

Here it is Chris... A version with delete!

http://home.worldonline.se/boray/datormuseum/menu7.zip

The problem just is that this xmenu.prg doesn't
work on the unexpanded vic. The minute I added
the delete function, I got "out of memory" on
the unexpanded vic... And as it wouldn't run on
the unexpanded vic anyway.... Well, I added the
sort routine too and a function to just remove a
name from the list (not from the disk).
(Actually just by running half of the delete routine).

So this zip file includes:

MENU (v6)

-no change. Works on unexpanded vic.

XMENU (v7)

-Requires expansion ram.
-You can delete files, sort the
list and remove names from it.

QMENU (v6)

-no change. The stripped "loader"
version that works on any vic.

SORTMENU (v1.1)

-no change. Included if you want to sort
the list but have no expansion
ram to run xmenu.

Please note, that if you have saved a file list to the disk and then start to delete files. Then you have to save the list again afterwards or the names would still be on there next time you load it... You could always do a "refresh" though, but it's faster to just press S when you are done...

The same with the sorting and removing names from the list. You have of course to press S afterwards to save the new altered list.

Another update:

http://home.worldonline.se/boray/datormuseum/menu8.zip

Includes:

MENU-X (v8 )

* The screen is updated much faster.

* When comming back from the help screen, the cursor remains where you left it.

* The delete question looks better.

MENU-Q (v8 )

* The screen is updated much faster.

MENU

(no change)

SORTMENU

(no change)

---

As you can see, I now called them MENU-X and MENU-Q instead of XMENU and QMENU. This so that you always can LOAD"MENU*",8 without knowing which version is on the disk...

i just want to thank Leif and Boray once again!

god, i love using menu-x, and the name is brilliant as well!

i am hoping i can add "format floppy" and "print directory" options to menu-x, with little problems.

menu-x really makes my vic feel like a disk jockey.

too bad menu-x can't be accesible with a flick of a switch.

this app. deserves to be in ROM some how.

I agree! I created a new thread to discuss how to go about it. This will involve ML programming, so the new thread is in that section.

Oh, it would also be great if it worked with 64HDD and subdirectories :)
