Didn't someone post that they would be working on a menu for the UltiMem, so that all images from MegaCart can be added & accessed ?

Since both the GCart and SuperVixen will have mass storage interfaces, it should be a simple thing to get most games into both of these. I don't know much about the GCart, but I recon both devices will be able to load any game/software in less than 1 second.

Apparently plbyrd was working on a menu system, but he decided to quit the scene and deleted all his code. Looks like that effort has been lost unfortunately...

:?: :?: :?:

plbyrd posted here in Denial just a few days ago. That can hardly be counted as quitting this community (or, if you'd like to call it that way, the 'scene'). He may have his reasons for deleting his web code repository; again, that decision is entirely on his own, and maybe he just moved it to another place.

He posted on Particles BBS that he deleted all his code and repos related to retro computing. Everything, both locally and remotely. I checked and all his code is 404 online. Its a shame, but I guess its what he needs to do for himself right now.

Regarding GCart. The latest estimates are around 25ms when loading directly to the onboard DDR memory. Around double that when loading data into internal RAM.
And that is when loading a 8k block straight into memory without any compatibility with any other kernal/protocols/etc.

I ordered a MegaCart 5 years ago... Still waiting...

Post by Linzino »

Hi everyone,

I ordered a megacart about 5 years ago and I am still waiting...
I know Brian has had real problems...

Has anyone here got a megacart in the last months?
How long do people have to wait for one?
Should I wait any longer or just give up?

Have you just been waiting for the cart the past 5 years or doing other things too?
Kind regards, Peter.

This cart does dound good, and by the waiting times it seems I better get in line, where can I pre-order one of these?

How does it compare to the Behr Bonz?

I've got one, and I'm about to sell it.
I had a nice keyboard overlay printed professionally as well... if I can find it somewhere or I'll sell it without it.

Let me know if it's interesting, it's Serial No: 0123

I might put an ad in for it unless I have any positive reply from a few other places. (I NEED to get that thing off eBay that I can't afford, you see).
