Don't run eMule sadly... MegaUpload is probably an easy way to upload files for people to grab.

And if need be, send stuff here to be TAPed ;)

I downloaded and converted to TAP, but it came up as empty TAP image (of about 2.8mb).

The wav file may need to be enhanced (normalized) for sample to be converted into TAP.

I haven't had time to work further on this, but this weekend is a long weekend, so I may have time soon.

Tried all my tape64 tricks on the wav file.

Sadly all i could salvage was the first prg out of the bunch.

I dont know what you recorded this with, but it has a HUGE 50Hz hum, and various other signal instabilities... sounds kind of like if it was recorded with a microphone :)

I dont know if the problem is the tape or the tape player :|

I salvaged many beaten tapes before with tape64, but doing more would require a more intelligent app than tape64. Something that can ananyse the "mirror section" and do guesses/disasembly (in the case the tape error resides in code and not data)

I did try again with Audacity. Just uploading to Megaupload, I send link here when its ready.

This time tryed with my desktop computer and line in connector, laptop only had mic in. however tapeplayer was connecter to earphones.. There is din (5female pin) connector, but I dont have cable.

If someone can help with Audacity settings.. What I should change to defaults.. I have never used audioprograms like this.. Its quite different software than Winamp or iTunes that I have used before..

My Keiko computer combatible casette recorder has switch that has two settings Normal and Computer mode. Switch has been at computer mode since I loaded ZX Spectrum games with this casette player. Is it ok? Or should it be normal.. :?

This wav file only contains peaks of static. The one before was much better, sadly.

BTW the audacity settings are fine. 44100 Hz/Mono 16 bit is alright.

I guess its time for you to send the tape to the {"pros"} ahem

Does this mean that volume is too high or low? Or what could be wrong? :? :(

Its not a volume problem. Seems like massive filtering. I suggest leaving that "computer" switch to normal. I suspect Commodore and ZX Spectrum audio coding being much different.

Get a real tape player. sorry. We are talking Archaeological salvaging here.

The hum in the orginal file is likely caused by a ground loop.

There are also a few drop outs in the audio.

Does the tape load ok and run on Vic-20?

If it does not, then getting a good TAP image will be much more difficult to do (without enhancing and editing audio source).
