I am looking for one of those adapters that allow you to use a standard cassette player with your vic/64

I have one. The one I got on Ebay a few months ago. It's never been used. I'd trade it for a Cardco multislot expander that has a ribbon cable (so it doesn't have to sit right behind the VIC). I don't want to sell it though.

If anyone has a lead on a VIC-1020, I am always on the lookout for one of those.
