VIC-COM

Post by carlsson »

While browsing further among newly acquired printed material, I came across documentation to an utility cartridge called VIC-COM, which is a communications software to be used with VIC MODEM or VIC-1011A (as a dumb terminal). I have some material about VIC-COM, but no product number. It appears to be yet one more Datatronic cartridge:
This rom-package is not to be used with any extra memory or special-purpose rom-packages.
The first picture you will see on the VIC-screen is:

Code: Select all

**********************
*    vic - com.  1   *
* f1 = command menu  *
* datatronic sweden  *
**********************
VIC-COM. is now ready to act as a terminal wih the present setup. Which is 3-line, full duplex, 7-databits, 1-stoppbit, even parity, 300-baud.
And so on. I can't recall hearing about a cartridge based communications software, at least not with this name. It fits well into the family of VIC-GRAF, VIC-STAT, VIC-FORTH and so on. Unfortunately I have no pictures, only printed documentation. Perhaps it should get a mention on the list of cartridges; having promotional material and a early revision manual should make it vapor ware if not better.
