Commodore Magazines

Post by jiggleitalittleitllopen »

The buyer of my Commodore lot didn't want the magazines - couldn't afford the $100 to ship air to the UK. So I still have them if anybody is interested. First $10 or best offer + shipping takes all (Paypal preferred). To estimate freight, go to http://postcalc.usps.gov/ , the box is 26 pounds ready to go, & shipping from zip code 14623.

List of the magazines:
"Run" magazine, Jan '84 (premier issue) through October '86
Catalogue: Computer express, for C-64 & C-128, winter 85-86
Commodore (the microcomputer magazine) - February 82 & March 83
Commodore Power/Play, Vol 1 #3 - Winter 82
Commodore Power/Play, Vol 2 #1 - Spring 83
Commodore Power/Play, Vol 2 #2 - Summer 83
Commodore Power/Play, Vol 3 #2, Issue 9 - June/July 84
Compute! Vol 6 #4, Issue 47 - April 84

Lots of good information here. Please email me if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Would these ship media mail since they are all print materials?

Hope so, because media mail is cheap enough to make this interesting.

Thanks,

I read on another forum, when someone sold a bunch of Byte magazines, he rather not send them with Media mail, as the magazines contain (obsolete) advertisments, and the service prohibits advertisment material and there may be checks to ensure this. I don't know if they would confiscate 20+ year old magazines though, but you never know how they handle the magazines while finding out if they're legal or not.

The website says 'Advertising restrictions apply' but they are "bound printed material" by their definition, so I don't see why not. I will try to remember to check at the PO tomorrow, and post what they tell me.

Nope, PO guy him say 'Parcel Post only'. UPS would vary according to zip code, but would probably be no worse than $25 to the contiguous 48 states (I picked a random California zip code to estimate shipping cross country).

I got no offers yet - Someone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?

On Sale - $1.00 token payment & shipping takes all!

Hallo allemaal,

FYI, I'm scanning a whole bunch of Transactors at the moment and will release the reult as PDFs. I also looked through a bunch of Torpets (Canadian, Butterfield related) but, sorry, only reviews or comments, no real technical artical or programming. I also scanned some Commodore Club News (UK).

Anyway I let you know when finished.

No, I didn't. But they start at Volume 4, with coloured covers. The ones I scanned so far are older IIRC. But knowing this will save me some work, thanks!

??? I think there is a word missing? Anyway, they are available to anyone who wants them. Volume 2 Issue 1 untill Volume 3 Issue 8. All scanned with 300 DPI. Size; about 2 MB each IIRC. Little problem: not enough diskspace on my site. Any takers?
I can send them (each) by email but as outgoing email is a bit slow, I want to collect some address so I only have to send everything once.

Please email me privately at G.Baltissen (at) hccnet.nl

The mags are now posted at my site. I also have a mirror of C.S. Bruce's archive (with permission from C.S. Bruce and Karl Hildon, the editor of Transactor).

Edit: Due to a few mail problems I haven't recieved all of Ruud's magazines; only issues 1-6 from volume 2 (1979) are there so far.
