Emulator or Vic 20

Post by Devlin »

Just wanted to know.
Do you use the Emulator or the Vic-20 for computing.
I personally use.
A Real Vic 20 with 16k expansion.
1541 and a 1571 floppy
Mps 803 Printer
1702 Commodore Monitor.
And Last a Tape Drive.

I use both.

Mostly I use an emulator for a quick look at games to see what they're like, and definitely when developing.

But if I'm going to play a game seriously, I'd rather do it on the original machine. Mostly I use disks, but I'd like to put some games on tape (just for the hell of it.) I just haven't aquired a tape deck suitable for recording from my PC.

I have wired up an original Nintendo controller for use with the Vic and Atari.

Do you mean VICE? Just hit Alt+Enter and you are in fullscreen mode. You might want to set it up first: "Settings"->"Video Settings".

Thanks for the replys.
First off can this be done on a Vic with 16k expansion.
http://www.petscii.com/telbbs/listings.html

Of course a 16k or so bbs would have to be written.
Also will the rs232box and a null modem cable be compatible. I know they are doing it on C64's so can it be done with a Vic 20?
Last. It is so nice to see that others are using "The Real Thing"
Vic 20 is a great machine!

Well?

Bummer no responses on my last message?
My thoughts if a 64 modem works on a Vic 20 then Would one of these rs232boxes to null cable work? I could write the bbs if possible?
