TV Games to release a VIC 20 plug-n-play system

Post by Jeff-20 »

Jakks Pacific released a plug-n-play console base on the VIC-20 today!

The self-contained portable will have 20 games in an original joystick shell.

See pics and descriptions here: Jakks Pacific New Release

Does it have as severe colour issues as the PAL C64D2TV? By the way, if a such unit existed, I'm sure it would be sold via Yearonihmo/Toy Lobster rather than Jakks Pacific.

Richard of TND did a Dance game for the C64 in the Minigame compo last year. It is not really my cup of tea, but definitely doable if anyone wants a VIC version.

If it wasn't for memory limitations, Zork probably would work too. I've never played it, so I don't know how large the interpreter is and how much data needs to be in memory at one time. Maybe with a full expanded VIC-20?

Very nice. (I usually jump straight to the forums and missed them the first time).

A simplified DDR would definitely be doable on the VIC. Use VicTracker for the music maybe?

At the SWRAP2003 Commodore Expo, Dave "Watson" Ross really had wired a DDR pad into the joystick port of his C64.

you were a bit late. the "suspicious" games were mixed in with the real ones. maybe you'll stumble across one soon.

 Got me!... And the 1st of April has passed already. We're usually ahead of the world when it comes to time. I guess not this time.
