Where do our avatar comments come from?

Post by ral-clan »

Hi, I noticed under my user name and avatar it says "VIC-20 Fanatic". And other other people's it says stuff like "VICGuyver" and "Your Mother's Lover"...etc. etc.

Are these chosen by the user, or assigned? I don't remember ever entering "VIC-20 Fanatic" in my profile.

I like "VIC-20 Fanatic" but I'm just curious where this comment comes from...

perhaps I did it and I don't even remember.....I am losing it.

Some of them are board defined based on the number of posts you are. Others, including me, have custom ones based on our "traits"...

Who customized it? The administrator or you?

Carlsson,

I've been meaning to ask. What is that picture in your avatar? Is that you on a pillow....or with shaving cream on your face?

No, it is my head seen from above (a webcam). The white section is a t-shirt. You may be able to identify a pair of glasses on top of my nose.

I thought that the white was part of a surgical mask.

Was there an offensive odor when picture was taken?

I was being silly with the comments. If anyone wants to change one's avatar comment (or suggest one for a fellow memeber), please let me know. I'll change it.

Not worse than usually. Maybe the leftmost picture in the first row (the avatar I use on the VC forum) is more accurate. :-)

Hm, I'm not sure about EMD is the most well-known Ultima game. Maybe from a novelty point of view.

Jeff-20, I'm also dying to know where your avatar photo came from. That woman is haunting my dreams now

I don't mind my comment....

Speaking of Ultima: Escape from Mt Drash, here is an 80x49 animated GIF which could be used as an avatar.

Image

On some other boards there is a library of system avatars users can choose between if they don't have their own. Would it be something for Denial too, to create 80x80 or smaller pictures (not neccessarily animated!) from various VIC-20 games?

I welcome any "default" avatars. I have space to store them. I am sure new members would appreciate the atmosphere.
