Next SCCAN meeting - Saturday, March 30, 2024

Post by RobertBe »

Happy Easter season, C= and Ami comrades!

The next meeting of the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network is Saturday, March 30, from 2 to 5+ p.m. at

Panera Bread Restaurant
19662 Nordhoff Street
Northridge, California
(818) 407-9400

We’ll talk about exhibiting at the April 6 Los Angeles Maker Faire, and even more importantly, our April 13-14 Commodore Los Angeles Super Show. Yup, this is the last meeting before CLASS, and we'll be finalizing all exhibits and presentations.

Listen as I regale you with stories of the Melbourne Amiga User Group, the Sydney Amiga User Group, the Adelaide Retro Brisbane group, and the highs and lows of international travel.

The Ultimate 64 returns with plenty of new C64 games released this February and March. THEA500 Mini returns with its slew of apps courtesy of the Aminimiga distro and now with external, wireless keyboard and mouse. The VIC-20 returns with some of the latest games. Check out the sweet Green Pen MousE for the Amiga (courtesy of www.Amiga1.com), the TeensyROM for the C64 (now with the OneLoad64 Collection v5 on USB stick), and the pre-production expansion boards for the Mega65!

Thanks, Happy Easter, and pax vobiscum!

I hope you all have a great time! (I lived in northern Santa Barbara county for 13 years, and used to commute back-and-forth to Marina Del Rey on weekends for graduate school; bummer I wasn't back into my VIC-20 "addiction" back then!)

P.S. Watch out for major earthquakes while you are there!

Oh, interesting. The commute must have been a killer.

No earthquakes but lots of rain swamping the 101. :)

The commute was almost unbearable in January of 2005, after the second La Conchita landslide closed the 101, yet much better than what the victims there suffered! :( -OGM
