I have been looking for a website of Vic-20 gamebases

The games would include "Realms of Quest V",

and

Several Other Titkes as seen from

https://revivalstudios.itch.io/

Any suggestions?

The next GB20 is still on my HD, had been for years, was being slowly worked on and revised, and compatible with the v0.3 frontend for Gamebase itself... and then life changed, I became a dad and it's ground to quite a halt. I'm hoping slowly, eventually, I can at least bring it up to a point I can clear all the backlog of games, update the GEMUS script to work with the newest versions of VICE, and then hand the project over to someone else.

To be honest, I now tend to avoid including modern commercial games as it isn't fair on sales. At least not for several years after they've come out. So I think I may have put entries for RoQ5, Fire and the Revival Studios titles into the database, but no images. Certainly Martijn sent me his Vic20 games in digital format just for personal use and not to include. It also has anti TAP image protection on the tapes iirc.

Just a suggestion but it would be nice to have this project re-platformed into an online offering rather than something you have to download and install on a Windows only machine.

I took a look at it once and easily generated a web front-end in ASP.net by converting the access database to SQL. It could also be coupled with a javascript emulator for instance...

I have neither the time nor the inclination or skill to consider that, so once I hand it over, it can be done with in whatever manner someone sees fit! Which includes all the scans and screenshots too.

I ripped quite a few missing screenshots and cover art scans out of that wonderful Gamebase collection for my RetroArch playlists for VIC 20.

I find running the VICE cores under RetroArch the best way to present autoload / autostart for all the Commodore 8-bit and the PUAE core for the Amiga machines so much more friendlier in one user interface for family & friends to play.

And, yes, even multi disk games play easier with RetroArch by using hotkeys to do the eject, change to next / prev floppy in list, insert with its useful OSD popups. There's even the option to have JiffyDOS enabled (or not) per content which can be very handy with some tedious loads.

I'm astonished that there was no feedback to your screen captures,

Your Retroarch playlist setup looks amazing!

I do wish there was an online repository for all the Vic20 Games with screencaptures just like the Commodore 64 has with Lemon 64, C64.com, etc.
