Post by RobertBe »

Brian Seeley is having a fundraiser for new C128D/DCR keyboards. See

Hello!

I might be interested into just the plastic case of the keyboard itself, as mine still works very well but the case is slightly damaged. Do you know if such an option is possible in the Kickstarter?

While a very good idea in general, this is not even a Kickstarter. RIght now it looks like some guy had an idea and is asking for money. I'd expect a little more research to be done before I offer to pitch in.

Like:
- is it feasible to create such a keyboard today for a resonable price? I'd suspect no one would pay more than $100 for it and a lot of people would balk at anything over $50
- Is it to be a full reproduction or just a compatible keyboard?
- what about the different international versions?

A more doable option would be to use a good standard keyboard and make it work on the Commodore. The C=Key by Jim Brain seems like a good product for this use case:

Agreed. Not what I was expecting. Robert's posts makes a stronger pitch than the actual link.

From Brian Seeley --

"Unfortunately at this time I am unable to continue this project. I hope to resume this in the future as I feel it is a good endeavor. Thank you for your interest in this project. I also received some good suggestions in the comp.sys.cbm newsgroup. I have requested a refund to the two members that supported the effort."
