Help with C64 text adv?

Hi! I am creating a text adventure for the C64 and want a little help to optimize it. Sorry, but the text adventure is probably going to be too large to fit on a Vic20. :( If I post some code here, will you help me optimize it? I have five lists of cc65 optimization techniques at https://sourceforge.net/projects/cc65extra/files/ but want other ideas.

I don't know about helping optimize it, but I'd be happy to play it and report any problems I see. I always like a text adventure.

Nothing is too big for the little VIC on steroids (+35k) :P.
Davide Bucci's (DarwinNE) works, the ones you tried before, and the VIC ports of Infocom's complex text adventures, are there to demonstrate it!

orion70: You're right. So far, the text adventure is likely to fit, but it is only in the Alpha stages and is nowhere near completion. :(

I won't reveal my code after all, but I already have the skeleton code at https://sourceforge.net/projects/cc65extra/files/game/. Both the one with "Vic" and without are wanted, but this text adventure is based on the latter.
