Space Ric-O-Shay - can't get it to run.

Post by necronom »

Is there a trick to getting this to run? If I run it from CBM Filebrowser I just get a ready prompt, and loading it manually with ,8,1 doesn't run it when I reset. I have the full 35k, but I've tried it in VICE and have the same problem in lots of RAM configs. I can only get it to run if I use VICE and attach the file as a cart image.

Usually I just load the file(s) and do a reset to get cart games to run.

It is not uncommon for original cartridge dumps to refuse to run when softloaded into RAM. In various cases they intentionally or unintentionally (try to) write to their own address space, which will corrupt them unless a write protection has been activited after load (but before reset).

As VICE then maps in the image as read-only, that supports my proposition above.

Where did you get the file from?

Thanks, I'll try write protecting it. I didn't know VICE did that.

I got one from zimmers and another was on my standard sd2iec collection.
