GridIron VIC20 Unexpanded

Unexpanded VIC20 conversion of the C16 game Gridiron by Fantasy Software Designs
Huge optimization and improved visuals with parallax scrolling effects all in 3.5K.

This has been tested in VICE and on real hardware and is PAL/NTSC compatible.

It's also available on cassette to buy from FantasySoftwareDesigns.

Look like fun. I wish I could get it in the U.S. on cassette, but shipping's probably killer, eh?

Very nice! Yet another gridrunner clone, but a good one, indeed. I'll think about getting a physical copy of the game!

I haven't played Transversion for a long time. This is a really great version by any standard, even more so for an unexpanded game. Nice job indeed!

Not sure what you meant, but parallax scrolling usually is defined along the lines of what you see with the ground and mountains in Moon Patrol, for example here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Rq930AcIh0

The video pre-dates the addition of that effect. I purchased a copy on Itch, and it's there. Not parallax scrolling, but a background shift as you move around. It lends the visual some dimension, subtle but well-used.

The game's harder than I thought it would be. A lot to keep track of!
