PAL Fixed Key Quest?

Post by necronom »

Has anyone ever made a PAL fixed version of Key Quest? It's a great game, (I know at least two of you have an original cart) but it's NTSC, so it's off the left edge. I don't know much about these things, but I expect the screen pos is just a value in some memory location that could be poked in there at the start. A lot of games let you move the screen around, so it's clearly possible to change the position regardless of NTSC/PAL.
I'm hoping someone has a screen fixed version somewhere. I was playing it in 2017 emulated, but now I can play carts I wanted to play it on the real thing.

Again, the MegaCart has a universal PAL/NTSC-fix for this. It removes a table for the registers $9000 to $900f, sets standard values using a ROM-call instead and just manually puts the needed values in the remaining registers thus not touching $9000 and $9001.

Brilliant! Thanks again. That's tonight's game sorted :-)
I'll probably put a video on YouTube if I can get a decent score.
