Looks excellent, almost pixel perfect. It's for the REU expanded Commodore 64 only though. Not everyone's configuration AFAIK.

Yes, there doesn't appear to be a cheap modern replacement for the REU as far as I can tell.

Is it correct that 512kb "GEO RAM" and the likes (clones) are NOT usable as REUs?

I read in an interview with the Author that the DMA facilities of the REU assist in the scrolling implementation.

I believe not...
"The problem with building an REU is that Commodore put a custom DMA
controller chip in there; it's not just a stack of RAM sitting on the
expansion port like, for example, the GeoRAM."

Finally got around to trying this on the MiSTer.
It really is impressive and it's difficult to believe you are playing a C64 game.
