Level 8 with 6060XP. Level 8 is brutal, though.

Very nice game, but could I suggest one minor change?
Different background/wall colours? Yellow, is nice, but how about green, turquoise, etc?

Thanks for trying it!
I always go through a great many color permutations to make use of the VIC-20's limited palette, and I guess everyone's got a different aesthetic. Much of what motivates my color choices is the desire to contrast with my previous games. In this case, I imagined that you're carrying a lantern that illuminates the passageways as you move around, so that's where the yellow comes from.

I've seen this game in action. Overall I think it's quite an entertaining and fun game to play on the Vic-20.
