Bengo - Mr Micro

Post by AndyH »

Anyone got a copy of Bengo by Mr Micro. Saw it come up on ebay, not one I have seen before and I can't find a version of it online to download. It looks like it is a Pengo clone.

Yea, I was just watching that, was buying another game and it came up. I remember I had a good Pengo game (will have to try to find it) but don't ever recall seeing this one before, and searching online only the odd tape cover comes up. Can't find any gameplay footage or screenshots.

When I was a kid, we moved into a house and the previous owner had left a working arcade Pengo machine behind. Needless to say, I got really freaking good at Pengo. After you get through all the levels, the enemies become invisible.

I'd love to see it for VIC.

You could always try "Penco", a great Pengo-clone from 1986 which was a type-in in the german magazin "64er":

Can’t recall if I have added Bengo since the last release of GB20. It’s been a few years..! Becoming a father didn’t help either heh...

It is not in 0.3. I hope you have it as it sounds like a great game.

I was surprised to not be able to find an image for it, nor a video on YouTube. I guess the catalogue of Vic games is not complete. Hopefully someone with a copy will make an image ... live in hope someone with the game will find this post one day and upload a copy somewhere :)

This Bengo looks like a fake, there are not even screenshots of it on web!

I don't think it is fake as it was for sale online on Ebay and on Retrogames and Mayhem may have it also.

I contacted the seller to see if I can contact the buyer.

Just checked my tape collection and I have an original tape. I'll make d64 as soon as I have some free "retro time" (hopefully during easter).
