It looks to me like this W.O.R. port could have been done without a support chip.

Even with his hardware acceleration, the graphics still have to be put onto the screen by the stock hardware and 6502 code. on the "scoring" screen this game looks like it's displaying 12 player objects per scanline, which is not supposed to be possible (Space Invaders is limited to 6 invaders per row). How is this being done?
