They'd cost roughly the same, and the grand total would be definitely more than I can afford at the present time :?

She would complain that you didn't get *two* pairs of the designer shoes instead of that useless pile of junk ;)

[OT] BTW, I'm always surprised by how pricey fashion objects are - their content in design, research, and everything being vastly unjustified compared to the high-tech or retro-tech object. But this simple observation won't fit a wife's mind.[/OT]

Some BASIC program with PETSCII graphics that's been delivered with my first VIC in 1985. Can't remember its name. Aliens dropped straight down and one could shoot them with a ship on the bottom which could be moved horizontally. It was rather fast. Didn't get the hang of it, though.

I think the first video game I ever played was Omega Race on an arcade machine that was in a restaurant owned by an uncle. That was during the summer of 1981.

The first VIC-20 video game I played was Sea Wolf when my aunt just got her VIC around christmas 1981.

Space invaders! We were on summer holidays south of Rome in 1979 and my mother gave me some coins to try it. I was amazed! It was so fun!

Before that there were only pinball machines and other mechanical things to put money into :-P
